FDOT A1A crosswalk project in Ormond Beach to begin construction this week

The project consists of eight new mid-block crossings from Milsap Road to Granada Boulevard on A1A.

Expect lane closures on A1A in Ormond Beach this week, as a $4 million Florida Department of Transportation's $4 million pedestrian safety road project is slated to start Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Eight new mid-block crossings will be added, seven of which will feature rapid flashing beacons, from Milsap Road to Granada Boulevard on A1A. Other improvements include resurfacing existing pavement, curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk upgrades, traffic separator installation and lighting enhancements, according to FDOT.
