Sixties-themed floats, hippie-styled walkers, jeeps galore and a roaming “Abraham Lincoln” cruised the streets of Ormond Beach on Saturday, Dec. 9. for the city’s 32nd annual Home for the Holidays Christmas Parade. The parade’s theme — “A Groovy Christmas” — added a splash of tie dye to the holiday tradition.
This year there were close to 100 entrants and approximately 20 event sponsors who were instrumental in making the parade a success. Abaco Windows was one of the contributors and also took home the Ormond Beach MainStreet Ryke Hundredmark President Cup award. They were responsible for carrying Santa and Mrs. Claus in the procession.
