FCSO awarded $120,000 grant from FDOT to help reduce motorcycle crashes

Flagler County had 230 motorcycle crashes between 2022 and 2023, which included nine fatalities and 44 serious injuries.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office received a $120,000 grant from the Florida Department of Transportation to help reduce motorcycle crashes in the county.

Between 2020 and 2022, 230 motorcycle crashes occurred in Flagler County, according to a FCSO press release. Nine of those were fatalities and another 44 involved serious injuries. 

Using the grant funding, the FCSO will implement safety and awareness programs through high-visibility traffic enforcement, public outreach, and safety messaging during events like Bike Week and Biketoberfest, the press release said.
