Food Brings Hope Community, an organization dedicated to improving food security in central Florida, was recently awarded with a $400,000 grant from the Florida Blue Foundation to expand efforts in providing fruits and vegetables, regular health education, services and information to Volusia County families.

The grant will help 125 participants for one year and will be selected from families whose children attend Campbell Middle School in Daytona Beach and the surrounding community.

"The families, adults and children that are a part of this program will have fun, learn and see improvements in their overall approach to wellness," said Terril Bates, FBHC interim executive director, in a press release. "The Florida Blue Foundation grant has opened an enormous window of opportunity for the community.”
