Palm Coast approves 30,000 square-foot commercial plaza slated for U.S. 1, Belle Terre Boulevard

Also during the Jan. 16 City Council meeting, the council approved changing the spelling of Richenbacker Drive.

Palm Coast has preliminarily approved a 30,000 commercial plaza for the intersection of Highway U.S. 1 and Belle Terre Boulevard.

The proposed development is on an 11-acre lot on the northeast corner of the intersection and is owned by Atlas Investments PC, LLC. The Palm Coast City Council approved the application 5-0.

Though the lot is multiple acres, much of the land will remained undeveloped, with the applicant requesting four acres on the proper along the back east side of the lot retaining a preservation designation, leaving a 200- to 300-foot natural buffer between the property and the neighboring residential neighborhood, according to meeting documents.
